A bad start to a season? We’ve been there before. Last season in fact, and look how that ended!
I was intending to go to the Valley to catch up with some Charlton friends of mine, but my wife booked a last minute holiday and a week in the sun took precedence. I’ve just watched the videos posted on the website and you have to say what a great…[Read more]

Thanks for the summary guys, especially Singapore Don for a great insight! I boarded a plane in Greece when we were 1-0 down at HT and resigned to defeat, and arrived at Heathrow to receive 9 text messages with the good news!
It looks like George Francomb has sustained a nasty injury and maybe there is a chance for NA to incorporate Parrett into…[Read more]

Yes, a great match report from the city of the Merlion. Fantastic to see that young Poleon is seizing this opportunity with gusto and skill. And again the football Gods are playing with us! As we near the mythologized 10 game mark, in which we expect to have a firm opinion of where the season is headed, this recent result will likely ensure that…[Read more]

The best match report I’ve read actually Singapore. Thank you.
LTB did indeed sound anonymous on Radio WDON, and Shea was, I think, many people’s MotM. Hopefully there will be no more nonsense with Clarke, of whom, sadly I doubt we will get our money back.
I will confess that I was with the ‘lament’ crowd for much of the game, after all, haven’t…[Read more] -

What a win, what a day! I was fortunate to be one of the 1714 Dons fans who crossed south London to watch a great game of football in an impressive, “proper” stadium – and enjoy the buzz of coming away with a snatch and grab win from a losing position in the last 12 minutes. It was simply wonderful.
There’ll be match reports elsewhere that you…[Read more]

A few home trooths after last weeks game,a hard game against Charlton but its a london derby with over 1200 Dons at the game should make for a very good game 1-1 CoyDonsssss

Neal Ardley said the team had a “quite a harsh video analysis” on Tuesday ahead of the London derby at Charlton Athletic. “We challenged them a bit with their mentality. In the second half of the week we’ve tried to work towards the game. We want to get them feeling really good, build them up, and take that anxiety away from their performance,” h…[Read more]

AFC Wimbledon got a mention on the Ray Hadley radio programme this week !
It was in relation to the Greyhound industry in NSW which as you are aware Premier Mike Baird and his Government are closing down next year. He stated that it was an animal cruelty issue and the same was happening in the UK the latest case being the Wimbledon greyhound…[Read more] -

Mac, I agree with your comments the BTDH letter. I think it missed a few key points, and decided to write my own letter (while incorporating a bit of the BTDH letter in solidarity with the campaign). Here’s what I wrote:
I am writing to express my strongly held view that Merton Council in London remains the democratically appropriate body to…[Read more]

On a separate note, I presume you have all read the suggested standard letter of petition from us fanatics to the Secretary of State (SoS)? I hope it achieves the desired result. Of course it should, as there are no strategic national interest involved in the project. But… does the letter read that well to you? On a minor note, I thought it was…[Read more]

A home defeat usually sends me in to pretty despondent post match blues, but not today. We were outplayed, outfought, and outclassed by an excellent Sheffield United who thoroughly deserved their win. In truth, we could have been clobbered and conceded seven or eight; only profligate shooting and finishing by their attackers prevented a…[Read more]

Liam I’ll try to find you! Take your brolly ☔️Awful weather today, I hope it won’t add to any match misery. United are going to be a tough nut to crack. An exciting 2-2 would do me!!

Certainly one of the biggest games of the season today. Very surprised that Sheffield United started so badly but am sure they will be in the top six by the end of the season. Like everyone else, I was impressed by Poleon last week. Unfortunately Ardley does tend to be a bit cautious with his starting 11, so suspect he will be on the bench again.…[Read more]

It’s a pretty miserable forecast for tomorrow – well for the weather at any rate! We’ll be pitting our wits and battling the odds against the Blades in lashing rain at the meadow of Kings – and I fear it be hardgoing for our Dons warriors. But we shouldn’t fear the foe: if Neal plays an attacking team and we go for it, I don’t see why we…[Read more]

I’ve been away for most of the season so far and have viewed it from afar. Things seemed dire and it seemed like we might be out of our depths. I wasn’t surprised having seen the Dons a few times last year they did not seem like a team who should be playing in League 1. However they are and now have a win and there is hope. There are some big…[Read more]

Looking forward to a week in the sun in Greece, but having booked it before the fixtures were published I am gutted that I will be missing my most anticipated home AND away fixtures. Bl**dy fixture computer!!
Neal has some important decisions to make – Taylor or Poleon? Barnett or Elliott? How does he get Parrett into the starting XI?
For me,…[Read more]

One of the highlights of the first season in L1 for me, the first visit of Sheffield United, one of the ‘big’ clubs of this league and with pretensions of promotion this time under new manager and former Blades defender Chris Wilder, who guided Northampton Town to last season’s L2 championship. This will be a big test for the Dons, but comes at a…[Read more]

I agree with you Rob. There seem to be a fair number of fans who have an over-inflated view of our club’s potential. The Gaffer has got this one right.

It is sometimes difficult to form a valid opinion based on media/social media reports, and for the Dons the debate over Clarke could not be more polarised.
Nevertheless, while Clarke may be a little rusty, it is clear that he and his defence are not working well as a team.
True, matters have not been helped by the weakness of Kelly, but it is…[Read more] - Load More
