Cup time again. Would be nice to have a good run but the draw has not been kind to us – again. Impossible to predict as league form goes out the window and a lot depends on team selection. Nightingale should get another run out and some players will understandably be rested. Let’s hope the Dons can get through and get a home draw in the next…[Read more]

Firstly, put out of your minds AFC Wimbledon’s 2-1 win at Bury a few weeks back as a precursor to Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Gigg Lane. I hope Neal Ardley has insisted on that to his players before they face the Shakers again. To expect the same outcome because of what transpired recently is fraught with danger in the cut and thrust of Cup-tie…[Read more]

I wonder where Karl Robinson will pop-up next? Too good for League 1, not good enough for the Championship, but good enough to have held his job for a long-time (by current appalling standards). Mr Ardley must be rising up the list of long-serving managers for sure. Both these managers have proven a thing or two.

I’d take issue with the thought that NA’s substitutions cost us the game. It was clear to me from the hour mark onwards that the frenetic pace of the game was starting to take its toll on players. LTB in particular was struggling, after yet another mammoth effort. We needed to change things, and NA brought on direct replacements. OK I admit that…[Read more]

Before you get too despondent about our first defeat since early September, close your eyes and take a deep breath. Slowly exhale whilst remembering where we’ve come from, and how long it has taken us to get there. Then remember that for most of the yesterday’s game we gave a team that will be there or there abouts at the end of the season a real…[Read more]

Sing – I’m not sure your glass is full enough to be considered half empty! ;o)
Personally I rarely leave a defeat in anything but a foul mood, but yesterday I was calm and could reflect on an excellent game of football between two good sides. I missed the defeat against Sheffield United, but other than that the Bantams were comfortably the best…[Read more]

PS Will Nightingale had another solid game in central defence. Very calm and assured. Bodes well. My one other obsevation, and I’m afraid a negative one, is the sloppy and very costly wayward pass of Lyle Taylor in midfield that gifted them their first goal after just two minutes. A number of players have been guilty in recent games of giving away…[Read more]

I hoped I’d feel less despondent this morning, but I don’t. A defeat is a defeat, and it always hurts, however well we’ve played. To have lost in the 92nd minute, our fifth added time defeat this season, makes it all the more painful. Yes it was a fantastically entertaining, end to end, gripping game of football, but we lost – and that is always…[Read more]

I listened into the game last night so obviously disappointed when Bradford got their late winner. Up until then it sounded like a good game before a packed house in which a draw would have been a fair result. We all knew the run had to finish sometime so better it did against a decent team with a good performance despite the result. Tom Elliott…[Read more]

Agree that after our fantastic run another home defeat will not be a disaster. However, the confidence of the team may just be enough to get something from the game, especially if we start well. The sell out crowd should be in good spirits and if the boys continue to demonstrate the desire and work rate of the recent run, then the atmosphere…[Read more]

Certainly a brilliant time to be a Dons fan at the moment. But then again it has always been amazing following this football club.
Tough task tonight as we have not taken points off a top club yet (I don’t count Bury as a top club). Ardley has built not just a good team but a good squad as last week’s performance at Peterborough showed. Suspect…[Read more] -

This club of ours never ceases to amaze me. Before i moved to oz going to Plough Lane every other week when we were in the old 4th division i never dreamed that we would be playing in the Premier League a few yes later and then winning the FA Cup. THinking that no club in the World could do what we have, then to have our club taken away from us…[Read more]

Wimbledon’s rise to an all-time high of 6th in L1 has some people getting excited – very excited. While delighted with the Dons unexpected ease of adjusting to life in the higher league, the visit of Bradford City will give us all a truer reflection of the team’s capabilities. A defeat – the first in 10 games – would be no calamity, a hard-fought…[Read more]

Hi Colum, I think the EFL match against Oxford was included in our overall EFL package, so I don’t believe we get anything extra for that (I could be wrong though). A televised cup game would be great, but I feel that Bury will be out for revenge after the league match and so I’m wary of another FA Cup failure, as things have been going too well…[Read more]

Throw in a bit of TV money Windlesham Don and you’d hope the finances start to look as good as out league position.
As for a new keeper, which must be target number one come January, I don’t quite agree that he’ll automatically be a number two keeper. Sure Shea has improved, but if I was a keeper wanting to sign for the Dons, I wouldn’t want to…[Read more]

More importantly, we have already announced another sell out for the visit of the Bantams on Saturday! Roll on NPL and the ability to house close to 10k for big games.
Another full house means that average league attendances at KM will be close to 4600 this season, in a stadium which only holds around 4850 – great stuff!
Erik must be rubbing…[Read more]

…and hot favourite for “Head of Frenzy” is Paul Mitchell. No, not he of hair products fame (although Winky does need something to rectify his matted rats’ tail thatch), but a former Dongs’ player who has never managed a club before.
A “yes man” to take the flack while Winky extracts himself from the financial black hole? Who knows, but things…[Read more]

Probably good timing for us, as it allows them to have their one or two good games before resorting to type against the mighty Dons.

Sigh…. So we wake up this morning to the inevitable news that Robinson of the unmentionables is almost certainly out of a job. Shame, he was doing such a good job for us. I can only hope they give the job to losing US presidential candidate Donald Trump so that he can use his money to bring in some US ‘football’ stars from the NFL (ahem) and…[Read more]
