Tempting as it is the Dons must focus on getting past Sutton United before thoughts turn to a evocative home tie with Leeds United. Leeds won through to the fourth round with a 2-1 win over Cambridge United, so the incentive is there for both Wimbledon and Sutton to come though the January 17 replay at Kingsmeadow. Apart from the prestige of a…[Read more]

Well said Windlesham (and good to see you there). Very poor game in which we failed to test our old keeper once. Sutton bossed the midfield, and looked a lot more threatening in attack. Their number 21, Deacon, should be worth monitoring. It was only Sutton’s poor finishing that ensured we are still in the hat for the fourth round draw. Shame the…[Read more]

I’m not sure whether you managed to pick up live coverage Down Under, but if you didn’t then trust me you missed very little! A truly shocking match and a very poor performance from the Dons.

Personally I feel that NA’s approach to this game was wrong, highlighting how difficult the 3G pitch would be to play on. The players seemed to be very…[Read more]

The Dons didn’t slip up in a tricky FA Cup tie at Sutton United at evocative Gander Green Lane where the U’s have won nine games on the 3G pitch. James Shea made a fantastic save to keep the Dons in it, Tom Elliott and Paul Robinson came close to a winner in stoppage time. So the Dons get a replay back at Kingsmeadow on Tuesday January 17 and will…[Read more]

    Hi Martin
I installed an app called Mobdro onto my Android device. Can stream most channels including Fox 2 USA which is showing the game. Seems to work quite well.

As for the game, it is very interesting returning to our place of re-birth. I was at that game and it was very emotional. I suspect emotion will also play a part today, so hopefully…[Read more]

  • Hi all happy new year to one and all,I see the game is live in the USA,anybody know if its on here.

I find I have little of value to add to the Forum, except to note that the Dons are at least drawing rather than losing. They seem as strong as at any time. I think we are close in points to where we were at this stage last season, so there is everything to play for. The players seem to be motivated and more professional than in previous years.…[Read more]

Nerves starting to kick in for tomorrow’s big cup match! All the omens seem to be against us: Sutton’s cup pedigree, 4G pitch, Tubbs and Worner in the opposition and Tubbs’ personal cup pedigree.

The pitch could be a massive equaliser and it has to be asked whether ‘plastic’ pitches should be allowed once the league teams join the draw – if they…[Read more]

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder. Well today saw the return of Darius Charles, and boy how we’ve missed him. In the first minutes he had muscled a winger off the ball, and headed clear at least three times. Millwall’s goals were defensive errors, but Darius’s overall display made him a favourite for my MOTM award. The fact that it went…[Read more]

Bit quiet on here. Understandable given the last two results and being New Year. And no doubt Rob is busy with the cricket.
Anyway Happy New Year to all Wombles everywhere. If 2017 can be even half as good as 2016 for the Dons, I will be satisfied.

Going to be a tough start to the festive fixtures for the Dons with a trip to Phil Brown’s on fire shrimpers. I’m pretty annoyed that the fixture computer has given us two horrible trips between Xmas and the New Year. No trains running today and an early kick off (why?), meaning an unpleasant drive with little parking for those hardy fans who…[Read more]

The transfer window opens soon, but I don’t expect too much excitement. This speaks volumes for where we are as a club. We all remember the revolving dressing room door jokes of days gone past. The fact that we may not see any transfers, shows us all that we have a great squad that capable to achieving our objectives.

    Let’s hope they’re well…[Read more]

I wonderful Christmas to all WDSA members! Liam, I hope we can meet up during the New Year at a match. Pete, I’m glad you managed to get a ticket for Sutton in the end.

Onwards and upwards in 2017 for the mighty Dons!!

Christmas Eve here in Wimbledon, but of course Christmas Day with you guys down under – so here’s wishing you a very happy Christmas Day and all best wishes for a wonderful festive break. Let’s hope the Dons give us some post Christmas gifts on the pitch over the next week: four points would be a great return at Southend and Bristol Rovers. In the…[Read more]

Just watched the interview with Ardley on Dons Player. He has done a really good job in this last calendar year, not just with the first team, but with the whole spirit at the club, spreading through to the youth teams and the Ladies. This time last year, there appeared to be a disconnection between players and fans for various reasons. At the…[Read more]

I was lucky enough to get a ticket in the ballot for the Sutton game. I hope that Pete, Liam and any other WDSA potential applicants have had the same luck. I believe someone posted that the match is being show on Fox 1 or 2 in the USA and so hopefully it will be available somewhere on a feed in Oz. It should be an exciting cup tie with a great…[Read more]

Very impressive and readable posts from the Port Vale game. Thanks to you all and it’s always most appreciated.
Just back from Brisbane and the Test cricket and delighted to see the Dons play so well and get a 4-0 result over PV. Also significant that Neal Ardley described the performance as one of the best by the team this season. Just about…[Read more]

Excellent reports by everyone on a great days for Dons fans everywhere. I just want to emphasis a few points.

    1. What a save James Shea made in the second half at 2-0 up. It was made all the better that he’d had so little to do all game. If that had gone in, it could have been a very nervy game.

    2. Tom Elliott may have got the MOTM award, but…[Read more]

Well my concerns for yesterday were well and truly put to bed! Many thanks, Pete, for another great summary from the WDSA’s new ‘official match summariser’! ;o)

I’ll try to add to Pete’s thoughts with a few of my own from the day…

Firstly, the atmosphere before the match was extremely subdued. I had a friend with me and I had mentioned that…[Read more]

Thanks for the match report, Pete. I listened in on Radio WDON for the whole 90 minutes. So heard about how we dominated, but were denied by their keeper in the first half. Then just as Mikey T was describing how one-sided the stats were early in the second half, the Dons took the lead. And sounds like Shea’s save at 2-0 up was crucial in the…[Read more]
