A few snippets from the Dons’ Trust SGM held at the club last night. A more detailed summary can be found on the DT Webjam. Apologies if it is a bit disjointed, as it is largely a mass of ‘cut and pastes’ from the Webjam.
A majority of the meeting was devoted to an update on the new stadium…

Hi Rob,
There’s a couple of whispers it’s Deji Oshilaja being lined up, any ideas? -

Strong mail that the Dons will be announcing their second signing this week, possibly on Wednesday. Apparently a medical is due to take place.
Elsewhere, Academy-raised winger Toyosi Olusanya has been released (no fee) and has trials lined up with Chelsea and Fulham.
The club is expecting England Under-17 goalkeeper Joe Bursik to leave but…[Read more] -

im hearing that we are interested in Michael smith as a replacement for tyrone Barnett who is on his way out.

Oh Dear… Isn’t there some proverb about not throwing the baby out with the water… or at least not throwing Shea out before making sure you have a replacement? What with Bursik almost certain to be lost too, I wonder how our Kiwi now feels about being in the gun-sights of the opposition (and potentially our fans) next season?
On a better note,…[Read more] -

Hearing that Neal Ardley’s name was mentioned at one stage in their compensation wrangling with Pompey over manager Paul Cook as a bargaining tactic. Contact says a few clubs see Ardley as a potential good’un. But while not in Pompey’s sights as Cook’s replacement (apparently it’s Kenny Jackett) was warned to make sure Ardley is contracted in case…[Read more]

It appears moves to sign the goalkeeper from the Championship have fallen through – looking elsewhere for a GK but away from the Championship.
Another development: Stoke City eyeing young Joe Bursik as a goalkeeping backup. Would be a fee involved if he were to go the Potteries. -

Was expecting the news but really thought it would be a northern club. He will almost certainly be third choice at Millwall, but fair enough that he will be on a good wage there. Just one thought, courtesy of Paul R, would he have gone there if they had not gone up?

Rumour of Tom being given a three year contract at £6k a year. I’m not going to begrudge him that sort of deal, especially as he remains injury-prone.
I worry that the ‘lovely’ Millwall fans will turn on him pretty quickly if he doesn’t do the business – the move will be very good for his bank balance, but may not be so good for his self confidence.

Well it seems the dreaded departure is happening. I could have stomached him going back north, but to Millwall???! OK Championship, but nasty club. Feel like saying good riddance.

Breaking news. Elliott has left – for Millwall of all places! Presumably because he will get a championship wage. A shame but it was always on the cards he would leave.

Just read the preview about the L2 playoff game. Having been in Blackpool for the Dons game v Fleetwood, I know there is huge hostility against the current Blackpool owners in the area. And Exeter seem like a decent club in a pleasant city. Given that Blackpool is a complete shithole, I’m hoping Exeter win tonight.

So, another academy player to be sold off…. Who’d have thought we’d sell our future to raise cash for more duds…?

You’re such a tease Rob! No clues on keeper or academy sale? My money would be on Olusunja to Chelsea. He’s a real talent; a shame we didn’t use him apart from that June game at the end of the 2015-16 season.

Following the tribunal ruling on the Will Mannion fee from Hull City, hearing the Dons are likely to be selling another young academy player for substantially more in the next week or two.

Hearing Dons are close to signing a goalkeeper from the Championship… it could be announced when he and Ardley are back from holidays in early June.
