Crucial game coming up on Friday. I reckon 3 wins will be just enough to keep us up, possibly on goal difference. But 2 of those need to be against the likes of Fleetwood. So squeaky bum time for us Dons fans. Best wishes to all of you Wombles over Easter.

Whilst I agree with you MacWomble, if we lose on Friday and other results go against us, we could well be back in the bottom four.

Despite yesterday’s result, looking at the table and the fixtures, I am inclined to think that we are going to be safe – just! I see no such mercy for our twin city friends in MK-land. At the start of the season, would we have settled for safety, progress in the return Home, and the MK Dons to be relegated? And to retain the Gaffer! It looks like…[Read more]

Of all our remaining games, I can’t help feeling that Rochdale away is the most important. We simply HAVE to get something out of it. A point would do, but three would be nice. It won’t be easy, as Rochdale have some good players and play an open brand of football. Plus as they’ve shown in the FA Cup, they’re no mugs. Their league position doesn’t…[Read more]

One final word on the Oxford game. Liam Trotter won Man of the Match. He was the stand out contender, and it was great to see the big man at the post match festivities. You can catch part of it on the AFC Wimbledon Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/dominic.gunn.9/videos/1231186803678847/
This type of carry on is what makes our club…[Read more]

A lot has already been said about the Oxford game. I won’t disagree with a lot of it, but I will with some of it. So by way of my own opinion, here are some additional thoughts of yesterday.
I spent the first 45 minutes having to button my lip. Why? Because around me were a large group of Ardley bashers who spent the entire time taking the piss…[Read more]

In my opinion yesterday was a ‘must win’ game. At home, against managerless opposition who were on a poor run of form, three points was a must with two tough away fixtures ahead.
We duly achieved this, but for me this was almost the only positive to come out of the afternoon.
I was hoping for the team to be quick out of the blocks, but we were…[Read more]

A crucial win against Oxford United and more importantly a crucial three points towards the safety target. Another 9-10 points should do it and you would hope there is enough left in the squad to eke that out. It’s not going to come easy, this team struggles to get points. Looking ahead I would be hoping for points against Fleetwood Town (H),…[Read more]

There is a lot of negativity around the club at the moment, obviously with some justification. However I hope yesterday’s win over Oxford will improve people’s spirits. Sounds like we won ugly, but that is what it takes this time of the year. Rochdale away next week is another 6 pointer and without being pessimistic, I would take a draw now. Now…[Read more]

Colum makes a good point; maybe League Two would be better for us. Isn’t this all about killing time until lots of people dress up as wombles at the Grand Opening and Bonnie Langford makes a guest appearance? When for goodness is that day ever going to come? Hadrians Wall was probably built faster. I doubt the Burys and Rochdales of this world get…[Read more]

After yesterday’s results I can’t believe we are still 3/1 against being relegated. I feel that Oldham will have enough ‘know how’ to survive and Northampton have a decent manager and a big budget-ful of new signings. Fleetwood have also changed manager and have a decent squad, so to me we would be favourites to join the ‘dead men walking’ of…[Read more]

I see there’s a pitch inspection tomorrow (Friday). Can’t we just opt to accept the pool’s panel result? Oh…. three points to Charlton… Hmmm.

Standing there with a T-shirt, shirt, two jumpers, a fleece, and a coat (oh and two bobble hats) it was only mt feet that felt cold last night. I’d lost feeling in my left foot by half time! If you think last night was cold, I was talking to a man next to me that was in Prague last Sunday watching Bohemians play, and he said his beer froze at half…[Read more]

We are still 18th! How did we manage that? Staying still while going backwards. It must be the weather.

Before the game I’d have agreed with you Liam, but being 1-0 up with 15 minutes left a draw does feel like two points dropped. Hopefully it won’t matter come the end of the season.
Tomorrow’s game against Blackburn looks like it could be on. The club has put covers on the pitch, but today (Monday) there’s been snow showers all day. Nothing too…[Read more]

After the relief of that last minute winner against Rovers, I would happily settle for a point today Any thoughts?

Well, this is a Winston Churchill day…. (“We will fight them on the beaches…”), but I have to say that I feel the outcome today will not be the result we are hoping for.
I just don’t see us turning the current disaster around in one game, and especially not against a team in form and on it’s way up.
My doom laden expectation has been largely…[Read more] -

Fair to say that today’s match is vital to us. I don’t subscribe to the ‘must win’ view, but I feel it is important to avoid defeat and to play well. Another defeat and confidence could be shot. Another defeat in the manner of Bury or Northampton and we are doomed. We need to tighten up the defence and do what we were doing in January. A run…[Read more]

M K Dons’ new manager is not exactly doing them a lot of good. I doubt there is a decent and new manager out there, and certainly not one that the club could afford. The fat lady has not sung yet, so there is hope. I think we will have to resign ourselves to riding the rollercoaster with The Gaffer and his team of underperformers for the rest of…[Read more]

Well, the widespread expectation proved correct.
From what I saw on ifollow’s jerky efforts, most of our defensive woes boil down to the fact that with eight and often all ten players defending, everyone expected someone else to tackle the opposition player bearing down on our goal. Thus, as they were busy looking at each other, the pass would be…[Read more] - Load More
