Thank god for this season nearly being over what a rollercoaster the only good news is that we will have slightly more money for the summer so hop fully recruitment is right next season and it’s not the rollercoaster we had this season

Hi all, well what a season this has been. At the start I thought we would finnish in the top 10 but at the end I’m happy to stay up. Then all the other things that happened them getting relegated, now new plough lane starting. It is only going to get better. I’m looking forward to the close season now for all the comings and goings at our great club…[Read more]

Well, I humbly admit that I am very glad to have been wrong about Doncaster.
The Summer then, will prove to be an interesting interlude and one I have no doubt which will provide a new era for the team if not for the management too… (Note NA’s half voiced ‘We’ll see’ sign off to Slavin during his interview after the Doncaster game.)
My gut…[Read more] -

Great result last night sadly I couldn’t be there as I’m only an apprentice at work and couldn’t get the day off being two other Wimbledon fans going up there but listened on radio wdon and fans never stopped signing and the 400 odd sounded like a good few thousand here’s to Saturday which is going to be a massive party

Just back from Doncaster and absolutely ecstatic to have got that crucial point. Pretty poor game but for once who cares? It was mission accomplished and the celebrations at the end were a joy to be part of. Who cares if the achievement you are celebrating is only staying up? It felt like we’d won the league. It was a decent battling performance.…[Read more]

Good to have you back Rumours, and just in time to start some summer speculation!
I gave my thoughts on who should be released in the latest Newsletter.
In terms of signings, I’d hope that we could make efforts to tempt a decent League 2 striker – we certainly need a proven goalscorer. There would be strong competition, but I’d like us to go in…[Read more]

Another blood (quite likely in Fuller’s case); and guts display worthy of being listed in this season’s Hall of Fame… especially for George Long (who may have just secured my Player of the Year vote).
However, what I personally feel about our display was that it also demonstrated NA’s misjudgement this season. Misjudgement not only in choice of…[Read more] -

That was a gutsy point for the Dons at championship-chasing Wigan Athletic and leaves them just one point from mathematically securing their place in L1 next season with two games left. That draw means Wimbledon have taken 9/15 points in their last five crunch games, all against teams with something to play for. Doncaster Rovers away on Tuesday…[Read more]

There can surely be no greater motivation for our Manager and players to do what is required of them than knowing the scum, (sorry… those who must not be named) have almost certainly been relegated today. HOORAY!!!!
Equally I guess, there should be no greater motivation for our fans to really get behind the team in these remaining games (me…[Read more] -

I wanted four points from the Charlton and Walsall games and got six. Things could have been very different if Charlton had scored rather than hitting the post, and we didn’t have a very generous referee in the 96th minute at Walsall. We could have only two points from those games and on 45 points going into the Oldham game. Another three points…[Read more]

NA’s job was to keep us in League 1. Recent improvements in performance and a GREAT win against promotion chasing Charlton lead me to believe that we’ll do it. Four points above the relegation line with five games to go takes a bit of the pressure off. A win against Walsall or Oldham should do it: though I hope NA has already started looking for…[Read more]

That looked like a much better performance, especially in the first half, but our old demons came back to haunt us. The lack of a proven goalscorer. The defensive frailty over 90 minutes over a side that hasn’t won a game in ages. This was a game for the taking, but we just came up short. It’s a good point, but it feels like two lost. Had we won…[Read more]

Here’s a question of a slightly different type. Why the hell did we sign Lloyd Sam? He’s obviously not fit, and we don’t really need yet another midfielder who can’t run fast. I just hope we’re paying him on a match fee basis and that he never gets further than the bench.

Phew! Thank Doncaster for the cancellation… pity NA didn’t have the balls to call for one too.
As for our future, while some faithful still cling to hope of survival (and I applaud them for their optimism), I do not.
Perhaps what worries me most is that when I look at the squad and what we might start anew with, I find that most are now too…[Read more] -

Ken – I’m also confident that the new stadium is going to look empty next season, but with any luck may have a few in it the season after! ;o)
Today’s match is off, which is probably a blessing after playing 90 minutes on a quagmire on Friday. May 1st being touted as a rearrangement date and hopefully Doncaster will be on their summer holidays…[Read more]

The Fleetwood game was “The Game we HAD to Win”. Had we done so we’d have been level on points with them and in 18th spot. More importantly we’d only require 5 points for virtual safety.
We now require 8. Looking at our remaining six fixtures It’s hard to see where three wins or two wins with two draws will come from: Home matches with lower…[Read more] -

I was at the game yesterday and can provide some insight.
The mood among the fans is darker than the slate grey skies which enveloped KM for most of the day yesterday. Constant heavy rain from mid-morning added to the already sodden ground to produce a quagmire – the attached picture of the car park post-match gives an idea!
The pitch was fit…[Read more]

Crikey! And there was me looking at the upcoming fixtures and trying to forecast our points. Clearly a home win against Fleetwood would fit in with any optmist. The Cod Army FFS! I will await the reports, but this looks like our worst result of the season. I guess where there is life there is hope! The Cod Army….. FFS!

Definite squeaky bum time, Liam, and I am expecting a difficult game on Friday with Fleetwood climbing away from danger and with a very good away record.
If we are to claim the three points then we will need a full house behind the boys and a sprinkling of luck. My opinion is that we will get a very nervy draw.
Personally, I feel that we may…[Read more]
