Gosh, it’s all happening. Just what we needed. A tonic for the troops. Big Bayo at last delivered the goods. We need a renaissance from the Big Man for the next few weeks before he likely heads off to play for Alaska or North Dakota, wherever. And the M K Dons are relegated. There is no way they can make up 9 points of Rotherham, with only 5 games…[Read more]

Whilst I disagree with the tone of Trevor’s comments, I’d back his right to say what he feels. Just saying 🙂

Great result. What we need to do is get consistency for the remaining fixtures. Pompey play Plymouth next week. If the Pilgrims can win against them and we could as well, there would only be a point between us.

…and that other lot lost 4-0 in a real relegation six pointer. This is turning out to be a great day. Get in!

Adebayo Akinfenwa that may just be your 88th minute swan song, but what a beautiful thing it is. Come on you Dons!!

I had a flick back through old Wombles Downunders, back to 2001 in fact, 15 years ago and found Trevor Pearce’s name in the contributors’ list. That’s roughly (give or take) 90-odd contributions over time to this fanzine, he’s one of our longest-serving writers. Trevor, like other WD contributors, generously give their time to help put together a…[Read more]

Another week and another important game for the boys. Plymouth are going to be tough, they looked a talented outfit at KM first game of the season and are chasing an automatic promotion place. However, we have a good record at Home Park and the Pilgrims are not in the best of form at the moment – we have an opportunity.
As I see it the key…[Read more]

Having just received the latest issue of Wombles Downunder (thanks Rob) my eyes fell upon the article written by Trevor Pearce. I object strongly to the opening paragraph of his article which is blatantly political and has no place in a newsletter such as ours, his opinions are so far to the left he should be whisked back to the USSR of the…[Read more]

Yes, it almost looks like the Dons are good enough to make a good fight of a play-off place. Who would have thought that possible one year ago. This is a season where, as you point out, we have heard scant few utterances of the R-word and very few criticisms of The Gaffer. But perhaps we have reached our level under the current structure. This may…[Read more]

I can’t imagine that 70 points will be enough, especially with 5 or 6 teams still fighting over a single playoff place. My guess is somewhere between 72 and 74 points will be required. The good thing is that at the end of the season you want to be playing teams with nothing to play for and so IF our attitude is right and IF we don’t screw up at…[Read more]

Well, many of us hoped for a play-off place at the beginning of the season and there is no doubt we have a team with the ability to achieve it. However, IMHO, there are still some weaknesses we have to overcome if we are to be a force in League One, or even a League Two promotion candidate next season.
These weaknesses (IMHO), are:
1> Our…[Read more] -

At 1.51pts per game I estimate the Dons could finish with 70 points if they maintain that average over the closing seven games. But will it be enough to make the playoffs? An interesting but less pressing(!) stat is that the Dons are currently 30 points ABOVE the relegation zone occupied by York City and Daggers .. just shows you how far the club…[Read more]

Great day to be a Womble! Outplayed the diving, cheating and whinging anti-football team that is Wycombe. Throat very sore through screaming at the opposition’s cynical cheating and at the ref (both of them) being completely incompetent. Yet again Wycombe played the officials as much as they played us – pathetic to watch and just as pathetic as…[Read more]

I’ve decided to spruce up the web-site a wee bit (even with our new logo – any comments?). Another new feature is the single thread forum, so you can jump on and have your say, ask a question or just read what is being said. As I always say the forum is only as strong as what you make of it, so I would urge you to contribute and regularly to…[Read more]
