Only a few days to go until the Dons start their League One campaign. Still find it hard to believe. Pretty impossible to predict how they will go. Suffice to say, I am sure we will all be satisfied if we are still in this division come next May. The basis of the squad looks solid with Robinson, Charles, Bulman, Reeves and Taylor providing the…[Read more]

The close season transfers have started to roll in, perhaps sooner than we were led to believe which is likely to be a good sign.
Ryan Clarke looks like a solid keeper. There may be a few issues with injury and rustiness to iron out, but he has always looked capable when playing for Oxford against us. Roos was never going to stay, and sadly…[Read more]

I rarely get to read the whole of WDSA from cover to cover in one go. Life has a habit of interrupting. Last night I made an exception. I shut myself away and read it.
Maybe it is euphoria still rushing through my veins, but I have to see a massive “Well Done” to Rob and his team for a thoroughly enjoyable, emotional read.
One stand out article…[Read more]

So the season is over and very soon there will be the transfer rumours the only ones I’ve seen/heard are that Darius is signing permanently, Roos could join us on a season long loan and also I have seen billy knott I wonder if NA is interested because if Connor smith declines the contract then why not go for knott as Dannie’s legs could be…[Read more]

What can you say, but well done to AFC Wimbledon! What a marvellous achievement. Hats off to the Gaffer and his team. Who would have thought this special result would happen when we were making our predictions last year. And what a challenge we face next year. The challenge to assemble a team capable of staying in L1 now awaits the men handing out…[Read more]

Well I guess I will have to eat a little Humble Pie for all my laments about NA. Although, I STILL have some issues with him. For one, the long ball connection to our forwards didn’t work well again today (it never does). It was really only thanks to Taylor running his legs off (quite literally I think judging by his last attempt on goal where he…[Read more]

Following on from Dave’s post, we are now in the Prince of Wales pub on Sunday arvo watching the L1 playoff game between Millwall and Barnsley. We went to the pop up club shop in Wimbledon, bought T-shirts and had a chat with Ivor. It all feels a bit surreal and has done ever since that second leg game. Confidence amongst the fans is sky high,…[Read more]

There has been plenty of reminiscing this past week over the Dons’ League 2 play-off final at Wembley on Monday. Memories of when Wimbledon last played at Wembley in that famous FA Cup upset over Liverpool in 1988. Just reflect on that for a moment. Twenty-eight years have elapsed and now one of our own Neal Ardley will lead out AFC Wimbledon on…[Read more]

Hi guys. Sorry I’ve been off the forum for a while. I am going on Monday. It is a short hop over from Amsterdam and in fact I am going on Saturday to see the Championship play off final as well with my mates from Hull City. I also saw the mighty Mariners win two weeks ago I thought for about thirty seconds about going to see Millwall v…[Read more]

I’m going to be that guy who never posts on the forum until we make the final.
Are there any Dons fans in Canberra planning on going somewhere to watch the game? Barring that, is there anywhere to watch in Sydney? Assuming of course that anywhere would be open on a Monday night.
I would volunteer my place for people to come watch, but inevitably…[Read more] -

Wednesday night was one of those amazing nights. I’ve always felt that the team that just misses automatic promotion deserves to win the play offs but on this occasion. It seems only fair! But football isn’t a fair game and Accrington must be absolutely gutted after Bristol Rovers sneaking passed them in the last minute and then losing to a side…[Read more]

Splendid news! I guess we all had a hunch that DaRealAkinfenwa (or whatever) would eventually arise from his malaise and make it very hard for the manager this Summer. And so he has, twice. Sounds like the team reacted well to a lot of pressure. However, it will be difficult to take them to Wembley and not have the players a bit numbed with the…[Read more]

I have mixed emotions about our game today(!) What we did right and what we did wrong seemed all to evident to anyone watching it, including many on the iploughlane site and even the pundits on Sky.
Sky had us down as playing 4-4-2, but we were sort of playing a diamond shape (apparently). The trouble was, and always is, that the team doesn’t get…[Read more] -

With the prospect of Lyle Taylor running himself ragged on the wide expanses of the Wembley turf, I’m starting a sweepstake on when he first gets cramp. The smart money is in the first half 🙂
