Great to have 8 points from 5 games. I’m usually out during match time so don’t use ifollow (though I will for the Doncaster match when “our Home” will be on display but look up the stats. afterwards. What concerns me is that we are consistently behind in possession (30-40%, attempted shots, and shots on goal. That said I’m hoping for a less…[Read more]

Will the real AFCW please stand up! Our away form seems capable to making us look like a good team, whilst our “home” form is as shakey as Mr Stevens himself. Not only do we seem capable (just) of holding onto a lead away from home, whilst we seem equally capable of shooting ourselves in both feet at home whilst blindfolded. Let’s hope this “home”…[Read more]

An important match for the boys today after a poor couple of performances in the last week.
Our third match against a promoted side will be just as difficult as the other two, especially as Swindon came up as champions.
Glyn needs to sort out a shaky heart of our defence as well as trying to stop crosses being fed into our soft centre.
Up top…[Read more]

Unfortunately Saturday wound the clock back to the bad old days of the last two seasons. Despite going a goal up I never felt that we were in control of the game. The midfield trio from the Fleetwood game never seemed to impose themselves on the match and once again the central defence looked shaky, as we allowed Stanley regular opportunities…[Read more]

It has been an excellent start to the season. Recruitment looks to have been the best in several seasons, the new ground is looking magnificent and will be hosting matches from November and the side is unbeaten (over 90 minutes) over the first 6 games of the season.
I feel that tomorrow is important to give us a true feel of where this squad is…[Read more] -

Although things in the world aren’t great at the moment, we can at least enjoy the developments around AFC.
An unbeaten start to the season with an excellent win at Fleetwood on the weekend. Didn’t get to see it myself, but everyone I’ve talked to says it was well deserved. Apart from the 3 points, it was good to get a clean sheet.More…[Read more]

The Fleetwood win was a great and surprising result. It’s great to see the goals scored tally rising so quickly compared with last season. One big worry is the possession stat. It seems in freefall. 30% on Saturday. We won’t win too many matches with that stat. 8th is flattering but it settles the nerves for a while!

In case you missed our special #ThrowbackThursday video a bit earlier, Steve Seddon has rejoined the Dons on loan and here he is at Plough Lane! https://t.co/hYEg2fhvXW #AFCW pic.twitter.com/cGBUGAmtkB

Wimbledon’s season has been given a massive fillip with the season loan signing of marauding left-back Steve Seddon from Birmingham City.
Seddon had a galvanising effect on the Dons in their Great Escape two seasons ago and those who were at Luton the nig…[Read more] -

The negativity directed towards the iFollow platform proved unfounded as I sat down to watch a Dons game on it for the first time. Registering was effortless (if a little user unfriendly) and the coverage was really fairly good. The on screen adverts for both clubs sponsors were a bit annoying, but you really couldn’t complain.
As for the game,…[Read more]

Melvyn Lorenzen was an interesting trialist for Wimbledon in their recent friendly against a Chelsea XI at Cobham. Lorenzen has played 14 games for Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga and 42 games for ADO Den Haag in the Eredivisie. He played the opening half for the Dons and scored their goal in a 1-1 draw.
I started training with Wimbledon on…

Signing #8 .. Young Hungarian left-sided centre-back Daniel Csoka (Pron: Chooo-kah) in a permanent signing from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 20-year-old was signed after a trial against QPR.
Glyn Hodges said: “Daniel can play as a left-sided centre half, but he can also play as a left wing-back, and he has played in midfield. I keep making the p…[Read more] -

A display of promise yesterday. The opposition were typical League 2 and at times it looked like ‘old Wimbledon’ v ‘new Wimbledon’ with their hoof ball ‘charge of the light brigade’ attacking ‘style’!
With a little more quality finishing we could have been clear by half time, with both Longman and McLoughlin wasting golden chances.
Tzanev must…[Read more]

Only a few hours til KO, but late evening here so heading to bed.
Thanks to Colum, Pete and John for keeping us down under up to date.
There seems to be a feeling of cautious optimism about coming season. A point, or even better, a win tonight would be very welcome.
Keep safe and keep well, all you Dons fans out there. -

So here we go, the start of the weirdest league season in memory. Will it complete? Will it complete with a full complement of teams?
Who knows, but at least we go into it in a reasonable financial situation and with a squad that looks better than last season.
IMO today will be tough, Northampton won the play off final to gain promotion, and…[Read more]

It now looks like any WDSA members have extra time to save up for that first visit to Plough Lane. Earlier today it was announced that gatherings of more than six people will be banned throughout England as of Monday. In one fell swoop, any chance of anyone seeing a live football game anytime soon looks very likely. Bugger!

Hello all – long time no speak. Hope all are well. After a summer of solid work, the football is back and time to brush off the writing cobwebs!

TBH Roscrow has had many chances, especially in this pre-season and failed to make his mark. It looks like he was a gamble which didn’t pay off, so if we can ship him out on loan for the remainder of his contract then it will be good business.
My only concern is whether Reading would be happy for their young striker to have to compete with the…[Read more]

Word is if Smith does come in someone goes out and it doesn’t take much logic to figure out who between new signings Ollie Palmer and Ryan Longman, established striker Joe Pigott and little used Adam Roscrow.

Looks like Ryan longman if he’s grown his hair since I last see him , young lad from Brighton strong , quick , runs the sides well .
