Yet again, how did we get nothing from that game? Spitting mad at the shocking refereeing which he again robbed us of valuable points; and by our lack of killer instinct up front. Too gutted to comment any further. It’s just deja vu.

Absolutely gutted about that result! We dominated for large parts of the game and deserved a draw as a minimum. Sadly we are missing too many chances at the moment and need to become more clinical if we are to win matches like this. Having said that there was a clear penalty not given by the ref, who was probably busy trying to get the…[Read more]

Well, despite the fact that we squandered lord knows how many chances, I have to hand it to the bent ref for missing another of the world’s great ‘hand of god’ moments on the Sunderland goal-line.
On that basis, I award the Numpty Refs the point we should have had from the game.
That makes it Dons 5pts – Refs 4pts.
Just think where we’d be if we…[Read more]

And further agreement from me. Tuesday was a freak result and goals, which belied the overwhelming
stats in our favour. Sixteen years ago today we beat Cove 3-2 in our first Combined Counties win while Sunderland were lost 1-0 to Everton in the Premier League. It makes today’s fixture all the more incredible and exciting. Sunderland are clearly a…[Read more]

Agree with your thoughts, Liam. I’d write off Tuesday’s result due to the freak nature of the goals conceded. I am convinced that if we had equalised during the half hour period of intense pressure then we would have gone on to win the match – sometimes it is just football and you have to accept it.

As for today, Sunderland are starting to…[Read more]

Today against Sunderland is undoubtedly the most anticipated home fixture of the season. Has somewhat of a Cup Tie feel about it as Wimbledon will be the underdogs, so getting even a point would be a good result. Thought the Dons were unlucky against Walsall. They played nearly as well as the previous three league games, but we’re undone by…[Read more]

At the risk of being labelled an armchair critic (I accept rebukes from present company), that was poor. Yet what it did reveal (for me watching on ifollow) was that:
1> McDonald had absolutely no control over the back four, who, irrespective of the two own goals, were almost completely dysfunctional as a unit. King knew that too and virtually…[Read more]

Finally getting along to my first competitive game of the season on Tuesday. Hope to see Pete, Liam and even Dave if you are around – keep an eye out for me.

Great to see the team really pulling together at the moment. Although it looked from the highlights that Barnsley were pretty wasteful in front of goal, it is also difficult to see how…[Read more]

Great to see you at another away day Liam – that’s three already we’ve shared this season! And good to meet Dave. My goodness the team had to be good at Barnsley, and they delivered. We were disciplined and resolute against a very impressive ex Championship side who were incredibly quick and powerful, giving us no time on the ball at all. Our bac…[Read more]

Another impressive performance by the Dons yesterday to secure a point at one of the better teams in the division. Was not a great game but the team worked very hard for each other and restricted Barnsley to just a few shots. For me, Will Nightingale was MotM, but one thing about the current line up is that it is very much a team performance.…[Read more]

Great to see you at Fratton Park last night Liam – what a difference to that Borehamwood game! We are being treated to some wonderful football: assured, composed, creative, silky passing – boy, it really feels like watching “the beautiful game”! This team is so, so different to last year’s. A calm confidence and resilience courses through the b…[Read more]

Tremendous night out at Fratton Park yesterday evening. The Dons displayed great character to come back from 1-0 down to win 2-1. Starting line-up bit different from Saturday with McDonald at centre half, Garrett LB, Wordsworth and Wagstaff in midfield, and Hanson up front being different.
Dons totally dominated the first 20 minutes but Pompey…[Read more]

Just watched Saturday’s match back in full and was amazed to see Liam Trotter even better than he was at Fleetwood! Lord only knows what has happened to him in the close season, but long may it continue! Incredibly he seemed to play in the Jake Reeves playmaker role and he took to it like a duck to water. I still have concerns over Tom Soares,…[Read more]

Quick match report. Dons much the better team. Lots of crosses into the box from Pinnock and Bircham but failed capitalise on them. Hit the post in a goalmouth scramble near the end of the first half. Barch was particularly good and got MotM. Defence stood up well but to be honest Coventry didn’t threaten much.
Denied a penalty by the ref in…[Read more]

If the game had taken place in the USA I doubt the Referee would have made it to the car…
Today’s exploits by the pillock with the whistle also make we realise why there is no such things as transfer windows for Referees…. few of them would be worth a cent.
AFCW 0 points, Referee 3 points… I shall be keeping tabs.

what a fantastic result on saturday that gives me a bit more optimism for the coming season now, the only question ive got is how did pinnock play? i saw he got in the efl totw and from what i saw on twitter he was class. ive also heard and seen that we are signing one more striker after cody left us, because of fitness problems but i wish him the…[Read more]

Phew! Only 16 more wins to safety….

  • Well that was a good start to the season with everyone in the side playing for each other. A very good team performance. Looking forward to the season now,I know one swallow doesn’t make a summer but it looked good. Watching it on ifollow which was a hundred percent better than last year and with commertry as well, which broke up a few times but…[Read more]

Well that was a thoroughly enjoyable away day up north – a great win in glorious sunshine. It was a superb team performance, with confident and solid displays by every single player. There was a real togetherness and energy which was utterly refreshing and engaging. We looked a very different Wimbledon to the one of last season – a much, much…[Read more]

    Many thanks, Liam. :o)

Really sad to hear the news about Meadsey retiring. Always gave 100% and always spoke eloquently about the game and himself, all too rare in modern times.

Thanks Meadsey, and don’t be a stranger at KM and NPL…
