My Saturday started with a pre match beer at The Cartwright Hotel. The bar staff were decked out in various colourful Bradford City shirts. They were very accommodating and friendly ladies who were happy to have a group photo with me, which in turn received many comments and likes on the AFC Facebook page.

It certainly was one for my bucket…[Read more]

Never has an eight hour round trip for a skill-less borefest been so enjoyable…

    “Two times out of non-league,
    We’re never going to stop…”

We had one or two clear chances, as did Bradford, but that was it. As much time was spent looking at the scores from Southend and Plymouth as it was on the pitch. The final whistle was greeted with…[Read more]

Never in doubt? Even the born optimist would have looked at the team 10 points adrift in February and with an inferior goal difference to all around them and thought, they’re a gonna.

You have to admire the squad and management team for getting us out of this mess. To survive on goal difference when our own goal difference is so bad, speaks…[Read more]

After 189 days in the bottom four, and extricating themselves in the penultimate game, Wimbledon saved their season on goal difference: three goals separated the Dons and Plymouth Argyle from the fourth and last relegation spot. That’s how close it was. The Dons scraped over the line after being marooned in last spot and 10 points from safety in…[Read more]

Too many emotions and reflections still after Saturday to do justice to them in words. But for now, just two suffice; Wow! Phew.

A fine result on Saturday, although not a fantastic performance. This squad seems to possess a togetherness and a confidence that was missing a few months ago. Wally and Glyn must take the praise for the change.

My tickets for Saturday arrived today, so all set for the denouement of the season! I echo Singapore’s sentiment that this squad…[Read more]

What a high this season is ending on after the misery of the lows of the autumn and winter. Luton and Wycombe were such fillips for the confidence and positivity brimming around the club now – it was so great to be able to share those moments of euphoric delirium with Rob. I trust you’ve recovered and will see you for more of the same hopefully…[Read more]

What a position to be in leading into the final game of the season: Wimbledon require at least one point to beat the drop at Bradford City on Saturday. The Dons emerged from 189 days in the bottom four to climb to 19th after a gritty 2-1 win over Wycombe Wanderers at KM last Saturday. A double from Joe Pigott (he also missed a penalty) was enough…[Read more]

Were you at the Wycombe game, Rob? Wow!

I bought an iFollow match pass for Tuesday and it was money well spent (apart from the couple of years it will have taken off my life expectancy!)

Luton really did take us apart for large swathes of the game, with quick and incisive movement and passing. They were also dominant in both boxes.

Due to a combination of luck, last ditch defending…[Read more]

One of the major moments of the season when the Dons snatched an equaliser through Steve Seddon deep in stoppage time to deny league leaders Luton Town of all the points. It signalled absolute mayhem in the away end. I was amongst them, 733 Dons fans singing their hearts out for the entire match and rewarded with this brinkmanship.…[Read more]

A couple of points from me regarding Friday’s match.
Firstly, mental fragility. If we do go down then it will be largely due to our inability to see out games where we have taken the lead. Friday was the third home game on the spin we have taken a lead and failed to hold on to it. When Rovers started to take control from the hour mark there was…[Read more]

It felt more like a loss than another valuable point in the Great Escape bid. Joe Pigott’s impressively taken goal off a sweet Anthony Hartigan pass had the Dons in front at HT and in control, yet they were outplayed in the second half by Bristol Rovers and it was a matter of time before they equalised with a cracking goal 12 minutes from time. It…[Read more]

Listening in from South Carolina it struck me that while our fragility at defending leads is beyond exasperation, the appalling Sunday league refereeing standards have once again played into the hands of the FA’s general dislike of us… or perhaps I’ve spent too long in the land of conspiracy theories? Nevertheless, analytics will show that over…[Read more]

Great to see Windlesham and Liam before today’s Rovers game – and wonderful (if tense!) to watch it with Rob in the John Green Stand. A beautiful English Spring day with glorious sunshine – sadly darkened by another Dons failure to capitalise in the survival battle with a home win. The Oxford draw last week was a point gained; today’s draw was def…[Read more]

You’re spot on Windlesham. Vital game today- as every game has been for the past couple of months. We have momentum; just hope we can keep it going for four more games. But Rovers are going to be a stern test.

Looking forward to chewing this all over with you and our very welcome Dons from diwnunder. See you all later in the bar (or outside g…[Read more]

Four heartstopping sets of 90 minutes remaining to determine the outcome of our season! The permutations are endless, so even for us supporters it is probably best to just concentrate on our fixtures and then see how the chips fall.

I feel that 6 points will be enough and 5 may be enough to see us safe, but whatever happens it is likely to come…[Read more]
